Welcome to the home of The Heroic Dead guild,

We are an Ebonheart Pact family oriented casual guild that has been around under one name or another for over 10 years. We originally started out as the Council of Lore in Everquest and as the games come and go we have of course followed the community wishes. We have played Earth and Beyond, Vanguard, Guild Wars 2, World of Warcraft, Warhammer Online and others.

In Vanguard we were called The Crimson Wind and we had our first real experience in being a "large" guild. Most of our members at that point came from more casual backgrounds and so with our laid back attitudes our popularity and expansion took us by surpise. We did however learn ... how to handle large amounts of members, how to excel at large scale crafting, dabbled in a bit of raiding and for a while we became one of the pillars in the Vanguard community. As is the case with many mmorpg's however there were issues with the game and so the interest in Vanguard declined.

We took a look at our performance in vanguard after the dust settled and a couple things became very apparent. So apparent in fact that we've adopted a set of core values that are simple to understand and guide us in all the games we've played since then.

We are dedicated to a friendly, guild focused, fun gaming environment where every member is a part of our family.
We seek to plant the seeds of long term friendship and camaraderie among each one of our members and make each day more fun and enjoyable whether that day is spent online gaming, chatting with folks on messenger or reading the posts on our forums.
As the guild is centered on an enjoyable friends and family experience we will NOT be concentrating on raiding. Our members are free to arrange raids if they want to however raiding in general should NOT be expected as a guild run function.
We do not exist for any one game in particular however we will change our chosen game of focus based upon the needs of our members. The choice is up to the guild as a whole and is very flexible as many mmorpg’s seem to be either hit or miss.

Pretty understandable isn't it? I know that there are many people it will not appeal to. The people who are looking for large dungeon runs and the best equipment would be the first ones leaving the site and never coming back.

You know what the members and I say about that? I think it's best said by "Don't let the doorknob hit ya where the good lord split ya".

Think that's a little rude and unsocial? Yeah it probably is, and don't get me wrong. We want allies and friends to the guild, everyone needs help at some point. But we've been around long enough to know that we're looking for people who want to be around for the long term, work to better the guild and don't mind getting their hands a little dirty while doing it. Most of our members come from 2 areas ... full time working people with families or full time college people. Now I know some folks look at those 2 groups and think "what's special about those groups?" ... well the biggest difference between them and the gamers who are single is TIME. We just don't have the time to be jerked around. Hell, I would love to have the time to be hardcore but a 3 hour raid from 7pm to 10pm or later would take away time from my kids, my wife and any chores I have to do. For the college kids it means less time studying and a greater chance of being a failure.

We love to game and we will do it as much as we can. But we're not willing to let our real lives, the responsibilities we have and the people we love suffer because "the game" REQUIRES more of our time. Real life comes first. Period.

So ... if you are looking for a guild that encourages real friendships, getting to know each other and understands you have real life commitments then we are for you.

If all that matters to you is looking for the best equipment, dungeon runs and only knowing your guildmates in the most passing of ways ... well we're not where you want to be.

Sorry to say this was the only size of this pic. Thanks for the offer, tho. I had a hard time even finding a site to pick an avatar icon from, and this was the best of the bunch, lol. It's a little too "young" for me but, it does capture my basic demeanor and the blonde hair so I used it.
